‘en Joy dance fitness latest news and updates

The latest ‘en Joy dance fitness newsletter: Zumba updates and new fitness classes in Colden Common!

Hi all,

Firstly I just wanted to say a huge thank you for booking classes with me, it’s been a great few weeks, nice to have a tiny bit of ‘normality’ back and I’m really looking forward to all the future classes I have planned!

With changes in Government restrictions, there are a few important updates below, please take the time to have a read through to ensure we all keep each other safe.

Safety first, Zumba next!

I’d just like to clarify that there are currently no changes to the rules on group exercise classes. The new restrictions apply to ‘team sports’ and as long as group exercise participants maintain social distancing as per the approved guidelines, then classes can continue as they are now. Phew!

Each participant in an ‘en Joy dance fitness class will have a space of at least 3mx3m in which to move, marked by a coloured disc on the floor to stand behind. Although classes are exempt from the rule of 6, when waiting outside for a class or leaving a class, and of course during the class itself, please distance yourself from others and do not mix in individual groups of more than 6, to keep yourself and others safe – thank you.

Exits, entrances and QR codes

From this week there will be a couple of changes at Colden Common Community Centre. The Gloucester Hall will now have its own one-way system, which means class participants will no longer need to use the communal areas of the centre. To enter the class, please use the Gloucester Hall’s fire exit doors (the ones furthest from the car park). If these doors are closed, please wait for me to open them (I will do this as soon as the hall is set up), there’s no need to go to the main entrance.

Inside the hall, there will be a poster with a QR code for you to ‘check in’ to the class. Please download the NHS test & trace app before the class if you can. The other fire exit (nearest the car park) will still be the exit as normal.

The booking terms and conditions have been ammended to include the updates, please take a moment to read through them here.

Now that’s all the boring bits out of the way, let’s get on with the exciting new class news!

Friday evening Zumba classes in Colden Common!

I know lots of you were asking for an evening Zumba class and here it is! The classes will kick off on Friday 30th October at 6:15pm and all proceeds from this first class will be donated to Cancer Research UK as part of Zumba’s Party in Pink campaign. As with all classes at the moment, spaces are very limited so if you’d like to come along please book here.

If you’re unable to make this class but would still like to make a donation, please visit the Party in Pink Cancer Research UK Giving Page.

New FitSteps FAB classes!

FitSteps FAB is a dance based exercise concept devised by Strictly’s Ian Waite & Natalie Lowe, which combines the graceful movements of ballroom with high energy but low impact latin moves, in a programme suitable ‘For All Bodies’ and at a slightly lower intensity than an original FitSteps class. The routines have swing and sway roots, including dances such as the Foxtrot, Swing Jive, Cha Sway and Charleston. Please bear in mind this is not a dance lesson, it is a follow-along dance fitness class. No experience required and there are no partners needed for your Strictly style solos in this fun class!

FitSteps FAB classes start on Monday 5th October at 9:15am, please book your space here.
