Party in Pink with Zumba in Winchester and Eastleigh

The Party in Pink Zumbathon is a global annual campaign from Zumba, dedicated to raising funds towards the fight against breast cancer. Between 1 September – 31 October 2021, Zumba instructors around the world are encouraged to host a special class or event with proceeds going to either the global charities chosen by Zumba, or a breast cancer charity of their own choice.

After a successful Party In Pink event last October, raising funds for Cancer Research UK, ‘en Joy dance fitness will be bringing the Zumbathon back for 2021, but this year’s event will be spread across 3 days and 3 venues across the Winchester and Eastleigh area:

Wed 13th Oct – Unit 12, Winnall
Thu 14th Oct – Pavilion on the Park, Eastleigh
Fri 15th Oct – Colden Common Community Centre

Each session will run from 7pm-8pm, a whole hour per evening of follow-along Zumba fitness fun! Join one, two, or all 3 sessions!

We raised £80 last year for Cancer Research UK and have now added an extra £220 to our target for this year’s event, setting our total goal at £300.

With almost 140 women diagnosed every day, breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UK. And, although rarer, around 350 men are also diagnosed with breast cancer every year. The good news is more than two-thirds of women now survive 20 years or more. Help Cancer Research UK find new ways to diagnose and treat the disease.

Zumba is well known for its party vibe, with instructors using visual rather than verbal cues, no break downs / run throughs of the steps and routines, just getting straight to it and dancing along to the world rhythms, raising the heart rate while having fun and hardly even realising you’re working out – a Zumba class really does feel like a party! Don’t worry about ‘getting’ all the moves straight away, just dance along and enjoy yourself, it doesn’t matter if you are travelling in the opposite direction or freestyling your own routine, as long as you are moving and smiling, that’s really all that matters!

It would be amazing if participants could wear something pink, but this is of course optional and you should wear what you feel comfortable exercising in. Pink neon legwarmers and tutus are especially encouraged if that’s your thing! Please wear trainers.

This is an official Party in Pink Zumbathon event approved by and funds will be donated to Cancer Research UK by ‘en Joy dance fitness via the Party in Pink Giving Page. ‘en Joy dance fitness still requires participants to book for the class in the usual way, as there will be a limited number of participants to comply with the distancing measures we still have in place for your safety. All fitness levels and ages 16+ (14+ alongside a parent/guardian) are very welcome to join these sessions. Please book your space here!

If you’re unable to make the Zumbathon sessions this October but would still like to donate, please visit the Party in Pink Cancer Research UK Giving Page to donate directly. Thank you!
