There are a number of 30 minute sessions planned for the morning, afternoon and evening, including a mixture of FitSteps, Zumba and Broadway Boogie. The provisional timetable is below. Please book via this page, with a donation of your choice (minimum suggested donation of £5) and your donation will allow you to join one or ALL sessions throughout the day! Your donation will be transferred to the event’s Just Giving page, supporting Marwell Zoo, and if you’re aiming to join in with the full day, you could even ask family and friends to sponsor you via the Just Giving page, helping to raise even more funds for our wonderful local zoo.
This event is entirely not-for-profit and all booking donations will go to Marwell’s appeal via Just Giving.
All sessions can be accessed via the ‘en Joy dance fitness livestream studio OR via Zoom. You will receive the login details upon booking. You do not need to register for the individual sessions, just turn up for the ones you’d like to do on the day. Absolutely no dance experience necessary and all levels of fitness welcome. Just follow-along, modify the steps where you need to, and have fun!
*Participants in the 2pm FitSteps TONE session will require a loop resistance band. You will be required to fill in a Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire during the booking process and you are responsible for checking with your doctor to ensure you are able to participate in the activity. Please wear suitable clothing and footwear for taking part in exercise and have a bottle of water nearby to stay hydrated. You do not have to wait for a break in the music, please pause and drink whenever you need to, but avoid stopping suddenly and try to keep gently moving to prevent the heart rate dropping too quickly. Please do not continue with any movements that cause pain and please work at your own level, modifying any movements as required. By booking an online class, you acknowledge and understand that you are voluntarily engaging in an acceptable level of exercise, and participation involves a risk of injury.
The exercises in ‘en Joy dance fitness classes are targeted at ages 16+, as children’s exercises should be adapted to reduce risks of injury due to their bodies still developing and under 16s also require a higher level of supervision to ensure their exercise technique is correct. Due to the nature of online classes, I cannot control whether children are present with you and if a parent allows their child to join in alongside them, this is at the parent’s own discretion and the child will not be covered as a participant on ‘en Joy dance fitness’ insurance.
