Terms and Conditions and important information about ‘en Joy dance fitness classes

Please read the following information before booking or participating in any classes.

Your safety and wellbeing remains a priority and there will still be a limit on numbers for the foreseeable future, thank you for your co-operation.

General terms & conditions for ‘en Joy dance fitness classes

Booking online in advance is essential as there is currently a limited number of spaces per session, based on the square footage of each venue, to allow for safe distancing in line with national governing body EMD UK group exercise guidelines. Booking is available on a week by week basis, at a rate of £6 per session, or with discounted rates when booking more classes at once with a multi class pass.

Please wear suitable clothing and footwear for taking part in exercise and bring a bottle of water to stay hydrated. You do not have to wait for a break, please pause and drink whenever you need to, but avoid stopping too suddenly and try to keep gently moving to prevent the heart rate dropping too quickly. Please do not continue with any movements that cause pain and please work at your own level, modifying any movements as required.

Please note, doors and windows will be open during the class wherever possible, to allow fresh air to circulate and provide adequate ventilation in line with current guidelines. Please bring an extra layer of clothing on colder days and throughout the winter months. Hand sanitiser will be provided to use at entrances and exits and the instructor will have hand sanitiser and cleaning wipes available also.

In the event of another national or local lockdown, venue closure, or instructor illness, any outstanding sessions already paid for will be made up at the earliest opportunity. If you are unable to attend a session which you have paid for (individually or with a class pass), please inform ‘en Joy dance fitness, preferably by logging in to your Bookwhen account, where you will be able to transfer or cancel your booking, or by email or via Facebook or text message at the earliest opportunity. Single session bookings can be transferred to a later date (depending upon availability, and if 24 hours notice is given). Refunds will not be considered if less than 72 hours notice is given, as the hall hire fees will still apply and the extra space may not be re-released and filled in time. Block bookings are offered at a highly discounted rate but these are non-transferrable.

Please note, a discounted class pass cannot be refunded after any of the sessions have been taken, or if there is less than 72 hours remaining before the first booked session. Class credits may be given if you are unable to attend a booked class (where sufficient notice is given) and any unused sessions on a class pass can be carried over to a new term. ‘No-shows’ will not receive a class credit. There is currently no expiry on our class passes, but there may be slight changes in the timetable from term to term and certain classes may be discontinued. If ‘en Joy dance fitness ceases to trade completely, any class passes or block bookings will be refunded pro-rata.

Participants are asked not to attend classes if they test positive, or if they have symptoms of Covid-19. Anyone who displays Covid-19 symptoms shortly after attending a class should contact the instructor as soon as possible so correct procedures can be followed. If you are experiencing symptoms such as a cough, shortness of breath or high temperature, please refrain from attending a class until you have received a negative PCR test result. If you live with, or have been in close contact with someone who has recently tested positive for Covid-19, please ensure you have received a negative PCR test result before coming to class, to ensure the safety of others.

You will be required to fill in a Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire during the booking process and you are responsible for checking with your doctor to ensure you are able to participate in the activity. By booking a class, you acknowledge and understand that you are voluntarily engaging in an acceptable level of exercise, and participation involves a risk of injury.

The exercises in ‘en Joy dance fitness classes are targeted towards adults. Ages 14-17 may take part only alongside a parent/guardian who is also participating in the class and a separate PAR-Q form must be filled in by the parent/guardian on the child’s behalf. Unfortunately we cannot allow children under 14 (or under 18 without a parent/guardian) to take part as children’s exercises should be adapted to reduce risks of injury due to their bodies still developing and they also require a higher level of supervision to ensure their exercise technique is correct.

By booking and taking part in an ‘en Joy dance fitness class, you are submitting a legally binding electronic signature and you are deemed to have read and accepted all the terms and conditions on this page.

Statement of GDPR compliance

When making a booking, you are providing your contact information (name, address, email, telephone number), date of birth, selected medical details and emergency contact details. This information is held only by ‘en Joy dance fitness and Bookwhen, on a password-protected system, and not shared with any third parties, unless required for insurance purposes or the NHS test and trace system. ‘en Joy dance fitness uses this information to effectively manage classes, to ensure participants are kept informed and safe and may occasionally send you relevant class news and information via email, but you have the right to opt out of this communication at any time. A printed register with emergency contact details will be kept on hand during the class in case of emergencies and this sheet will be destroyed after the class.

The online booking system is hosted on Bookwhen. They provide the online e-commerce platform that allows me to sell my services to you. All payments are processed via Stripe. ‘en Joy dance fitness does not store credit/debit card details or share customer details with any third parties.

Cookies may be used to keep track of cart contents while you’re browsing the site.

Additional safety information for classes which use equipment

Zumba Toning: For those who have not previously attended Zumba classes, or are new to weighted workouts, the Zumba toning sticks are very lightweight but just enough to add extra resistance to the workout. At any point during the class, you may put the toning sticks down on the floor to the side of your exercise space and continue without them. Toning sticks will be placed on the floor next to each person’s exercise space before the session begins. When the toning sticks are not in use, eg for the warm up and cool down tracks, the sticks should be placed back on the floor to the side. Please ensure the sticks are crossed over when placed on the floor to prevent them from rolling around.

FitSteps TONE: The resistance bands we use are provided by FitSteps and are made from natural rubber (latex). If you have a latex allergy please inform the instructor, as there are a few latex-free bands available to use.

No equipment is shared between participants. All equipment is thoroughly cleaned between classes.
