REST WHENEVER NEEDED, FOR AS LONG AS NEEDED

A combination of metabolic conditioning (‘MetCon’) and rest based training, this class is designed to maximise energy expenditure, even after the session is finished, by boosting your metabolism through repetitive moderate-high intensity effort, completing as many reps as you can, but going at your own pace.

It is designed to help improve your overall fitness, with both cardio and strength training, working at a moderate – high intensity throughout and resting when needed. Similarly to interval work, there will be cardio and resistance exercises, but without structured rest intervals. This is because everyone is different and is encouraged to rest whenever needed, and for as long as needed, in order to get the most from their own workout.

The idea of rest based training is to be in control of your own workout, push until you can’t… then rest until you can! For some people, this may be short frequent breaks, for others it may be fewer but longer breaks. Resting is a good thing, it means you have worked to your personal limit and by resting when you need to and for as long as you need to, you’ll be able to continue putting maximum effort in. This also makes rest based training more manageable for a wider range of fitness levels than other high intensity workouts, as everyone can adjust their work to rest ratios to suit their own needs. Not factoring in structured breaks within the session also makes this workout more time efficient.

This session will be held indoors through the winter months.
